Motion Detector
A motion detector is a device that is used to detect moving objects, usually people or animals. Motion detectors are commonly used in security systems, as they can trigger an alarm or camera when someone or something moves into the area that is being monitored. Motion detector lights are also becoming increasingly popular, as they can provide a convenient and energy-efficient way to light up a room or outdoor area when someone is present.
- Intruder alarm systems are one of the most popular security measures used by homeowners. They are also used in commercial establishments like banks, hotels and retail stores.
- An intruder alarm system is a security measure that detects unauthorized entry into a building or space. These systems are designed to detect break-ins and other disturbances, such as smoke and fire, and alert authorities or the occupants of the building.
Related Work
There is a great deal of related work on motion detection, both in terms of security applications and energy efficiency. For example, there are many different types of motion detector lights on the market, ranging from simple solar-powered lights to more sophisticated LED lights that can be controlled by a smartphone. There are also a number of different motion detector cameras that are available, which can be used for security purposes or simply to capture video footage of people or animals in a particular area.
There are a number of different methods that can be used to detect motion, ranging from simple infrared sensors to more complicated computer vision algorithms. we will be using a simple infrared sensor to detect motion. This sensor will be connected to a microcontroller, which will be used to control an LED. When the sensor detects motion, the LED will be turned on, providing a visual indication thatthere is something moving in the area.
PIR Motion Sensor
The PIR motion sensor is used to detect changes in the infrared radiation level. This sensor is sensitive to infrared radiation in the range of 0.5 to 10 microns. The sensor consists of two parts:
1. A sensor element
2. A Fresnel lens
The sensor element is made up of an infrared-sensitive transistor and an infrared-blocking capacitor. The transistor changes conductance when exposed to infrared radiation. The capacitor is used to block any DC component from the signal, allowing only the AC component to be detected.
The Fresnel lens is used to focus the infrared radiation onto the sensor element. This lens is made up of a series of concentric circles that act as a lens. The lens is used to increase the sensitivity of the sensor.
